Letting Go and Moving Forward

Attachment is a beautiful thing. It allows us to fully be known and to know others. It gives us a sense of security. We feel safe in knowing that we belong and are loved. But sometimes attachment can be dangerous to our souls and cause harm to our being. When our attachment to another person overrides the warning signs that the person is abusive, we know we are in for a dangerous ride.

Some relationships get toxic over time (or maybe from the beginning) and need to be reexamined. If a relationship does become more of a burden than a blessing, it may be time to let go. Not all relationships must (or need) to come to an end but the way things are being done need to be released. The relationships that must be severed need to be severed…and both parties must move forward.

Letting Go and Moving Forward is not easy. Because attachment of mind, body, and soul is involved, it will be ten times harder. But it is necessary for everyone’s growth. Just like a rose bush must be pruned in order for the healthy buds to bloom so must our lives. We must prune the dead leaves and branches of relationships and material items so we can make room for more of the healthy attachments.

How do I let go? How do I move forward once I let go?

1. Remind yourself of who you are.

2. Surround yourself with people who love you.

3. Decide to never look back once you started walking forward.

Peace and Blessings to you,
